Way too many commercial companies blocking the ramp. What used to be a great TWRA access has become over used by inexperienced canoeists and rude shuttle drivers blocking a ramp paid for by licensed fishermen.
If you have a normal sedan, I probably wouldn't recommend driving down the ramp. I bottomed out my Impreza on it. I echo other reviewers comments about commercial shuttles. They definitely block the ramp often.
Great place when the idiots from "canoe the caney" are not there totally blocking the ramp. Other than that nice place to pick-up/launch kayaks.
Nice ride from the center hill dam, couple hours. Also recommend pulling out at Bettys Island for a nine mile.
Awesome location for a nice picnic. We accidentally found this place while looking for a spot for that 2017 solar eclipse. Only minor issues, there was no restroom. Solution, there is a highway rest stop less than 5 min away.
